Johnny Rotten helps boost Dairy Crest demand

An advertising campaign featuring former Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten, aka John Lydon, has helped to boost sales at Dairy Crest, while the surprise disposal of its 49% stake in the Yoplait joint venture will improve its debt position.

Like supermarkets, which have reported a surge in demand for well-known brands and comfort foods, Dairy Crest has seen recession-weary consumers turn to “value brands they know and trust”, it said this morning. (continues at Guradian.co.uk)
